Expanding Childcare Access
for Working Families in Everett, Washington
A campaign for
INVEST IN A FUTURE OF OPPORTUNITY:
LITTLE WINGS EARLY LEARNING ACADEMY
LWELA will enable parents—especially mothers—to thrive
professionally with affordable, dependable childcare.
WHY IT MATTERS
In early 2023, the Machinists Institute (MI) purchased a building in Everett, WA with the vision
of creating Little Wings Early Learning Academy (LWELA), a childcare center designed to
serve families who require care during non-standard hours. We invite you to join in our
response to the urgent need for accessible childcare, and to invest in a program that will
nurture children’s development, promote equality in the workplace, and build resilient
families and communities. Join us to create lasting change for future generations.
LWELA will support underrepresented groups and expand access to
early childhood education and before/after school programs.
LWELA will create pathways through apprenticeships and on‐the‐
job training that prepare our next generation of professionals.
LWELA will ultimately enhance worker productivity, reduce
caregiver stress, and promote a balanced work–life environment.
